I have added a walk-through for constructing the seamed stocking pattern.
To create your own custom fit latex stockings:
- Create a custom pattern: Joining the MrDoo pattern sharing group and customise your stockings pattern. (See previous blog entries.)
- Follow the walk-through.
When I use the pattern drafter the heel portion comes out very squashed, but all my measurements are correct! What am I doing wrong?

Hi. Thanks for the comment. I’ll need to take a look, hopefully just a misunderstanding about measurements. Just let me know your username and that you’re happy for me to look at what you’ve uploaded, and I’ll see if I can work out what is going on. You can email me at mrdooslatexprimer@gmail.com.

Hi
Please check measurement A10. This is the height from the floor of the narrowest part of the ankle, above the ankle bone. This measurement for the pattern used in the how-to was 10.5cm.

Great post/guide. I am learning seamly myself, and wanted to download your original pattern (.val ?) and enter my own set of measurements (Bob O username). Unfortunately, I keep getting an error when opening it. Can you tell me how to download the original or what is wrong with my process?

It looks like you’ve been able to generate a downloadable SVG and also .VAL and .VIT files. So I presume that you resolved the issue you were having.

Dear MrDoolatex,
I am struggling to download a custom seamed stocking pattern, it keeps saying it’s failing to generate a preview. There is no ‘tech help’ on the website that I can see. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Please help.
Warmest regards

I’ll take a look at the PDF export. In the mean time I’ve emailed you the SVG export.
